Pelayanan Sosial Bagi Anak Yatim Dan Dhuafa Di Panti Asuhan Islam Media Kasih Kota Banda Aceh

Abstract

Social services play an important role in improving the welfare of orphaned and underprivileged children by fulfilling their basic needs and supporting their personal development. This study aims to describe the stages, types, and impacts of social services provided at Media Kasih Islamic Orphanage in Banda Aceh. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving orphanage administrators, caregivers, children, and alumni selected using purposive sampling. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that social services are implemented systematically through the stages of engagement, assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, termination, and follow-up. The services include residential care, basic needs fulfillment, education, healthcare, counseling, skills development, religious guidance, recreation, and transportation. These services positively contribute to improving children's social functioning, independence, discipline, responsibility, and ability to perform their social roles. The study concludes that the social services provided by Media Kasih Islamic Orphanage significantly support the welfare and holistic development of orphaned and underprivileged children.
