Improving the Economic Independence of Former Migrant Women Through the Village Student Program (Promahadesa) in Sumbersalak Village, Jember Regency

The community empowerment initiative implemented through the Program Mahasiswa Berdesa (Promahadesa) aims to improve the economic independence of former migrant women in Sumbersalak Village, Ledokombo District, Jember Regency. The Promahadesa team from Jember University implemented the empowerment intervention stages by identifying the potentials, needs, and problems experienced by the Bok-Ebok business group in Sumbersalak. This research utilizes a qualitative method with an action research approach, which allows the researcher to explain in depth the intervention process, as the author participated in the intervention itself. The study location was purposively selected in Sumbersalak Village, with the main informants coming from the Bok-Ebok business group. Data collection techniques included participant observation, direct interviews, and documentation. The main contribution of this study is to provide a practical overview of the stages of community-based social and economic empowerment intervention
