Strategi Penguatan Kelompok Usaha Purna Migran Bok-ebok Melalui Program Mahasiswa Berdesa Universitas Jember

Program Mahasiswa Berdesa (Promahadesa) aims to strengthen the capacity and independence of the post-migrant women’s business group Bok-Ebok in Sumbersalak Village, Jember Regency. The program addresses internal group conflicts, unstable sales, and limited managerial capacity that affect business sustainability. This study employs a qualitative method with a narrative study approach. The research site was selected purposively, with key informants consisting of group members and the Promahadesa team. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation. The findings indicate that strengthening strategies were implemented through personal approaches such as live-in and door-to-door methods, organizational restructuring, the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs), packaging and financial recording training, as well as facilitation of business legality and market networking through PLUT. These strategies effectively increased trust, participation, and group capacity, although involvement in the planning stage was not yet fully inclusive. However, the program planning process did not fully involve all members of the business group in several stages of the intervention that were implemented. The main contribution of this study is to provide an understanding of strengthening strategies for post-migrant business groups through the implementation of Promahadesa as a community-based empowerment model.
